30 YEARS TAWNY
This 30 Years Old Tawny Port is being launched to celebrate the thirtieth anniversary of the beginning of Quinta de la Rosa in 1988, by Tim and Sophia Bergqvist, father and daughter.
Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca and Tinta Roriz from “letter A”. From the oldest levels of Quinta de la Rosa.
All Quinta de la Rosa vineyards are in the highest classification terroir: A.
Tawny Porto can be served fresh as an aperitif, or at the end of the meal, alone or with dessert or cheese.
All our Ports are made “house style”, that is, a little drier and without that dull sweetness typical of Port Wines. We also work hard so that the brandy is well integrated into the batch.
Beautiful amber color to show your age well. The slow aging in casks gave this magnificent wine enormous elegance and complexity. On the nose aromas of dehydrated fruit, vinegar, balsamic, coffee and exotic wood are just some of its components. In the mouth it is simply delicious, almost light but with enormous intensity of flavors, smooth and with enormous persistence.
Port wines from Quinta de la Rosa follow the traditional style: fermented on foot in granite presses and aged in very old wooden vats. As with the DOC Douro of this Douro house, we seek harmony and balance of our grapes in the vineyard, so that they can express themselves freely in the bottle.
QUALITY & FOOD SAFETY
At Quinta de la Rosa, sustainable agriculture is practiced, certified by the entities ADVID and SATIVA. The wines do not contain, were not produced from, and do not include substances from Genetically Modified Organisms. No products from animals are used.
MATURATION & BOTTLING
This Tawny, as the name implies, results from the mixture of Port wines with an average age of 30 years. Only wines in which the quality is of excellence are included in the blend. Each year, the grapes are harvested by hand and stepped on foot in granite mills for making Port wine, with a part being kept for stocks.
At Quinta de La Rosa, Port wines are stored and bottled in the Douro and not in Vila Nova de Gaia, as in most houses, allowing a unique trait from the grape harvest to wine in the bottle.
